Who are the people who opt for microblading?
Although there are thousands of brow products on the market, those who tend to opt for microblading want fuller brows that look natural or made up, but don't want the hassle of filling them in all the time. mornings, or the worry that the pigment won't last all day. "If you make up your eyebrows every morning then without knowing it you are doing a microblading or a microsahding", explains Sonia.
However, if you're pregnant or have medical contraindications, Sonia says you shouldn't consider microblading your brows.
How long does microblading last?
Not forever, but much longer than your eyebrow pencil, that's for sure!
In fact, according to Sonia, microblading can last anywhere from one to three years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure and the products you use. However, touch-ups are usually needed about once every six months/year, especially for oily skin, as the ink tends to fade faster.

What happens during a microblading appointment?
Once the area has been disinfected and anesthetized, Sonia has a beauty consultation in which she discusses the shape of the eyebrows that will be drawn. While you can bring images like a haircut, Sonia tells us that to create a true natural-looking shape, she likes to follow the direction of natural eyebrow hair and takes facial symmetry and age into consideration. the client. She also consults with the client about the pigment of the ink, which she explains is chosen based on the natural color of the eyebrow hairs and skin tone.
Then she moves on to drawing the lines using the microblading pen, which can take 30 to 40 minutes, depending on the brow area. Once the brows are done, she applies a follow-up pomade for best results and a follow-up appointment is scheduled four to six weeks later. During this appointment, she is able to refine the final result in the form of retouching if necessary.
What does post-microblading eyebrow care look like?
This is not a suggestion to be taken lightly, as it can directly impact the look of the brows you achieve. To avoid blurring or fading, Sonia suggests keeping them dry from water and sweat for a week or more, and refraining from wiping them. She also recommends applying her ointment once a day.
“Immediately after the performance, the eyebrows are darker because they are full of pigments. in a few days, you will lose up to 30% of the color to give way to a perfect shape. “Explains Sonia. “An infection is always possible if you do not take care of them and do not follow the indications after the service. In our institute, all our tools are disposable and sterilized, so the risk of infection is minimal. Just choose your professional wisely."

Who can practice microblading?
There aren't many regulations when it comes to microblading, so you really need to use your best judgment, research very thoroughly, read reviews, and check out photos of the institute and the professional's work. You can also go to the salon to check the sanitary facilities, or ask for a beauty consultation which is mostly free. Sonia indicates that the free consultation allows the professional to provide you with valuable advice but also to give you an opinion on the beauty salon from a general point of view.
